A discussion list for liquid nuclear tank waste stored at
the Hanford Site in Washington State. "Nuclear waste stored in tanks at
the Hanford Site represents the greatest radiological/chemical threat to the
environment anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. Over one million gallons--out
of a total of 53 million gallons-- of highly radioactive, extremely toxic
waste have already leaked into the environment. Some of the waste is now in
the groundwater. The Columbia River is next. More leaks will occur. Tank waste
treatment must begin now. Please join us in a discussion to search for ways
to get the cleanup started." |
