Established by state law in 1967 (RCW Chap. 70.94). Our job is to help provide Puget Sound citizens with clean air. To do this, we enforce federal, state and local air pollution laws and regulations in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Our policies and programs are designed to meet and maintain air quality standards, protect human health, prevent injury to plant and animal life and protect Puget Sound's panoramic views.

US Army Corps of Engineers: Regulatory Branch (Seattle District)

 

The Regulatory authorities and responsibilities of the Corps of Engineers are based on the following laws: Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 which prohibits the commencement of any work in traditional navigable waters of the United States without a permit from the Corps of Engineers. Section 404 of the Clean Water Act which requires a permit for the discharge of dredged or fill material into all waters of the United States, including wetlands. And Section 103 of the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act of 1972, as amended which: authorizes the Corps of Engineers to issue permits for the transportation of dredged material for the purpose of dumping it into ocean waters.

Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR)

 

DNR manages more than 5 million acres of state-owned lands including forests, agricultural lands and submerged aquatic lands. Most of these lands are committed to "trusts" to generate income for several state institutions, primarily schools and the state's forest counties. DNR also takes a lead in protecting sensitive species and geologic formations, monitoring natural resource industries and providing forestry assistance to private landowners and communities.
