Formed by an alliance of community, environmental and
small business groups affected by ongoing pollution and cleanup plans for the
Duwamish River. Our mission is to ensure a Duwamish River cleanup that is
accepted by and benefits the community and is protective of fish, wildlife
and human health. We are a formal "community advisory group" recognized
by EPA and representing the interests of the community. We have received
funding to hire a Technical Advisor to review all cleanup related studies and
plans. We are involved in all aspects of the proposed cleanup and are working
to ensure that the cleanup meets community standards. |

Provides convenient and timely public access to rainfall,
streamflow and other hydrologic data collected at King County gage sites. |
|
|
Committed to monitoring the water quality of the County's
lakes to ensure their continued health, as well as the health of the public
who utilize the lake's many resources. This site contains detailed graphs of
water quality data, information targeted for teachers to use in the
classroom, and general information about the water quality of King County's
lakes. |
|
|
The Technical Document collection consists of more than
4,000 technical reports produced by King County agencies. The book collection
includes materials on a variety of natural resources topics, as well as
general interest materials. The Research Center exists primarily to support
the work of the Department of Natural Resources, but is open to members of
the public. |

Basin Stewards respond to citizen inquiries concerning
their watershed, coordinate efforts among diverse public agencies, facilitate
watershed improvement projects, provide assistance to monitoring programs and
provide public education opportunities |
|
|
Displays the watersheds of King County, their
sub-watersheds, local government and other institutional boundaries, surface
water-related historical facts and locations of significance, aquatic
resource information, and current (1992) and projected (2012) land cover. The
maps also provide an overview of the significant issues and challenges in
surface water management for each of the watersheds, as well as issues and
challenges that pertain to the major basins within each watershed. |

Mission to "enhance and restore the salmonid habitat
and resources in the Mid-Puget Sound Region through community
partnerships." We work to educate the community by involving volunteers
in habitat restoration projects such as removing fish passage barriers,
planting native trees and shrubs along streams, creating side-channels for
overwintering habitat for juvenile salmon, fencing livestock from streams and
installing in-stream structures (large woody debris) to create diversity in
the streams. |

North America's leading river conservation organization.
Our mission is to protect and restore America's river systems and to foster a
river stewardship ethic. The mission of our Northwest Office is to reverse
the decline of endangered Pacific salmon and ultimately to recover them to
sustainable and harvestable populations. The Northwest office of American
Rivers approaches river protection and restoration through the lens of salmon
recovery - because salmon are central to our region's economy and culture, and
because they are a keystone species, one on which many other aquatic and
terrestrial organisms depend. |

A joint effort of scientific research projects through the
School of Fisheries at the University of Washington. CBR investigates issues
surrounding salmon biology in the Columbia and Snake River basins. Our
research has produced computer models which simulate and predict salmon
migration and survival in the Columbia Basin and salmon harvest in the North
Pacific. We also function as a secondary database site, providing data and
tools to analyze salmon issues in Columbia Basin. As a secondary database
site, we add value to the data through statistical analysis and modeling activities.
